Great Northern auctions ftom March 14 to 22 had: Lot 184 Cast-iron GSWR gate notice 'Notice. Any person leaving this gate open is liable to a penalty of Forty Shillings' Seller's Note: From the photo this looks like an aged fake, we can assure you this is not and is entirely genuine. Total ex lineside condition. 27.3x 29.8cm. £80, Lot 219 Midland Great Western Railway of Ireland cast-iron bridge plate 'MGWR 730'. Repainted face, ex lineside back with post mark 30.5 x20.3cm £30, Lot 362 Lead crystal cut glass decanter, engraved 'Hibernian'. This high class piece of lead crystal is believed to have served on the 'Hibernia', in service with the LNWR then LMS, later BR until broken up in 1976. Original stopper, starburst cut bottom.
