Kiddlington on 24 January had a leather guard's satchel bag from Ireland, clearly stamped 'LMS NCC' £65, a carriage notice of Irish origin warning passengers not to put their feet on the cushions and seats nor to open the doors and signed 'J Calder General Manager'. Coloured transfer, 9x13cm, on a piece of original wood from a carriage. GC. £50 and an LMS NCC & Leyland Motors Ltd Makers 1933 from a 4-wheel petrol railcar - Alloy oval, 25x15cm, in original condition. The Vectis/Barry Potter auction at Rugby on 31 January had a brass oval 'Great Northern Railway' Dundalk 1908, 24cm tenderplate. £212 and a brass oval 'GNRI' Dundalk No.104 B2 1910 tender plate £165.
RCJ No. 134 has a discussion in the Tony Peart column on 'an LMS pattern loco head lamp with red bullseye lens' at the Malton. The housing for the lens splays out, just like the Midland, but, unlike it, the brass bezel is very narrow. From a Casserly photo he concludes it is from a 'Jeep'.
ebay had several Irish items in February pointed out to me by DC. These included a GNRI playing card deck which sold for $152, a photo of a GNRI employee $20, the ex-Portrush railway station clock, made by Sharman D Neill of Belfast, carefully restored, and standing 5.3 metres tall, which went for $5539, and a CIE hat for $17.
Paddington Ticket Auctions on 21 February had 4 binders (for details) containing many hundreds of tickets (incl. seasons and ephemera). Lot 331 was BCDR £310, Lot 332 CDRJC £110, Lot 333 more CDRJC £110 and Lot 334 CIE, UTA, GNRI, NIR, etc. £70.
